 | About Us The name Krasnaya comes from Krasnaya Ploshchad meaning Red Square. The word originally also meant 'beautiful', which perfectly describes Russian Matryoshka.
We are a small Company founded on a love of Matryoshka and Russian wooden crafts, which began many years ago on a trip to Russia. Anyone who has seen the row upon row of beautiful designs can't fail to fall in love.
As artistic people we were eager to try our hand at decorating our own, using traditional painting techniques and applied decoration. It is a very rewarding hobby that any age can enjoy, from small children to the more mature adult. As soon as we have decided what to do on a Matryoshka, we want to finish it to get on with the next exciting idea.
